Designed by WGNB, the London store celebrates the intersection of the district’s characteristic brutalist architecture and Polène’s elegant minimalism. Corten steel and concrete contrast with the brand’s collections organic shapes. Polène’s mastery of leather is showcased through a variety of creative techniques. On the ground level is an entire wall of bricks crafted from compressed leather off-cuts. This innovative process, developed in Ubrique’s leather goods workshops, has also been used to create a sculptural table.

The staircase’s leather-braided banister guides visitors upstairs. This piece is the work of artisans at Alma Studio, a historic British workshop that specializes in leather furniture. Hand-tied tubular braiding joins 32 thin straps.

Initials can be embossed onto leather goods pieces using gold foil. The brand also offers an interactive Plèi Experience with its thermoforming machine that can create a small item in minutes from leather off-cuts.
